This group is an energetic, experienced and professional live band with either our powerhouse five-piece band or the full show band the ‘Soul Section’ our extended line up including horn section as options. Available for hire for weddings, corporate events, school balls, parties, bars and all functions throughout New Zealand.
Superbad was formed in 2009 and the band worked primarily as a Soul/Motown band with horn section. As the band became more and more in demand, and for a variety of settings, in 2012 the band re-formed as a quartet being the resident house band at Wellington’s Blend Bar & Café every Friday night.
The band have an extensive range of eclectic tunes spanning from rock classics like Dragon’s 'April Sun in Cuba' to crowd favourite funk tunes such as Stevie Wonder’s 'Superstition'. Superbad’s line up has very accomplished & qualified musicians and calls upon some of Wellington & New Zealand’s most in demand musicians for it’s gigs, recreating the sounds of your favourite bands in a live setting.

The Superbad Soul Section was originally formed with award winning NZ female vocalist Wallace Gollan (now based in Australia) in 2009. They have performed at many events across the country including the Wellington Christmas Spectacular in 2010 performing to 35,000 people & the 2015 Wellington Gardens Magic Series at the Botanic Gardens! With the horn section bringing the groove, Superbad unleash their large collection of Soul, Funk and Motown tunes and will have people dancing all night.
Superbad were a fantastic and professional group who created an awesome atmosphere at the bar. They played amazingly and were always upbeat. They played every Friday night and were a great addition to the bar. Always arrived on time and without disrupting the normal running of the bar.
