“Not only the musicianship does she portray, but the joy that comes from within Allana is a rare quality today from entertainers."
This very talented girl is a true jazz vocalist! Singing it all, from stylised ‘vocalese’ solos, like that of Wynton Kelly’s ‘Freddie Freeloader’, to soulful ballads such as Etta James ‘At Last’. Allana has a warm contralto voice that she uses to emanate stunning singing as if she were one of the great jazz goddesses of the past!
She has been singing in Jazz bands around the Auckland scene for 10years and her experience and professionalism shows.
Allana and her band can appear in a number of formats, from acoustic duo (with guitar or keyboard) to trio for more intimate situations, to a six-piece performance band.
Allana is of NZ M?ori descent, and is well known as a M?ori artist for her performances of some of her favourite standards in M?ori and composing her own original lyrics.
“Not only the musicianship does she portray, but the joy that comes from within Allana is a rare quality today from entertainers.”
